In software, a breakpoint is a deliberate pause. The process stops. State is exposed. You read it. Then you continue, with more information than you started with.

That is what this is.

BREAKPOINT is a community, a journal, a set of field guides, and a line of kit for people in cyber and tech. We publish writing about pressure, identity, and recovery. We build the checklists, drills, and tabletops people actually open at 03:00. We are building a space where operators can be honest about what the work costs.

The name came from the idea that stopping is not failing. It is the moment where you actually see what is going on. Most of this industry treats the pause as the problem. We think it is where the problem becomes solvable.

The system does not break at the breakpoint. That is where it starts making sense.
